Matthew is a young person involved with VOYPIC. He is passionate about the support that VOYPIC provides and loves the residential trips that the young people get to go on.
How did VOYPIC impact on your experience of care?
It definitely helped me cope with the feeling of not being wanted or seen.
How was the transition to adulthood helped by VOYPIC?
With them, it was definitely a lot easier. Just felt a lot of support behind me.
What advice would you give to another young person in care?
Definitely not to stress yourself about anything. That’s obviously a lot easier said than done.
What do you hope VOYPIC will do for young people with experience of care in the future?
Well support goes without saying. But I hope a lot more young people get to go on more residentials because that’s where you really get to meet some really good friends.
