Support Us

Working together with children and young adults to put their rights and voice at the heart of decisions affecting their lives. We want every child in to feel safe, valued and loved, and for every young person leaving care to do so with dignity and respect, and thrive into adulthood.

Each year, we work with over 600 children and young people with lived experience of care across Northern Ireland. This including children living with foster families, with members of their extended family, and in children’s homes, as well young adults who are leaving care and living independently. We provide advocacy support, helping them to have their say in the decisions about their lives and their care. We bring young people together, supporting them to explore their care and express their views and opinions. And, we work with them to create change, learning from them to inform and influence decisions at every level.

We want to reach more young people, and help change more young lives. To do that, we need your help.

Donations and Fundraising

As a charity, we rely on donations and fundraising to help us in our work. From small, one-off donations of a few pounds, through to massive fundraising events, every penny we receive goes to help up ensure children and young people in care have a voice.

Corporate Fundraising & Charity of the Year
Charity of the year partnerships give organisations the opportunity to engage their employees in a range of fundraising methods over a longer term and to see how their efforts can directly impact on children and young people in care. Developing a partnership can help organisations to achieve their corporate social responsibility, meet their marketing objectives whilst developing and building team skills, motivating staff, increasing PR on a local and regional level, and engaging customers and employees in events. VOYPIC can work with you to develop a calendar of events that can maximise the return of investment for both the organisation and VOYPIC. To find out more, email us at info@voypic.org with the subject line Charity of the Year.

Fundraising
By holding a fundraising event or activity, not only are you raising important funds to support our work, you’re also helping us to raise awareness some important issues for children and young people in care. There are lots of different events and activities you could organise to raise money. No matter what you do, we’re here to help you put it all together. Just send us an email (info@voypic.org) with the details and your information and we’ll get back to you.

Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly, on a tax free basis, to VOYPIC. Donations are deducted from your pay before tax, so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p. If you’re a higher rate tax payer it will only cost you 60p. For example a donation of £5.00 per month costs the basic rate tax payer £4.
To set up your regular payroll donation, click here.
Once the form has been processed, Payroll Giving in Action will forward a copy to your employer who will then arrange for your donation to be deducted from your next available salary.

Volunteering Opportunities

We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with our work. While we have offices in Belfast, Derry-Londonderry, Lurgan and Ballymena, we have volunteering opportunities right across Northern Ireland. Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing different skills and experiences. You don’t need to have any specific qualifications, or any specific experience to volunteer at VOYPIC. The most important thing is having an interest in, and commitment to, supporting young people with lived experience of care. For more info, click here.
