VOYPIC has been awarded £500k over the next three years for our new Leading Change Programme. Thanks to National Lottery players, we will be supporting care experienced young people, aged 14–30 years old, to lead change, through youth leadership, independent advocacy, coaching and mentoring.

Youth leadership training will help improve young people’s self-awareness, confidence, and self-esteem. The young people will be provided with opportunities to take on leading roles within activities and groups within VOYPIC, and in their communities. They will develop the skills needed to advocate for change in their communities by representing their peers in local and regional decision-making forums.

VOYPIC’s mentoring and coaching will support young people, leaving care to understand their own personal development needs and how to communicate these to others. Developing confidence and self-esteem is an important part of this process.  Mentoring will provide young people with opportunities to build their social networks and become active citizens in their communities.
