Youth Rights Worker (Derry-Londonderry)

Salary: NJC points 16-20 – £24,012 – 25,991


Voice of Young People in Care (VOYPIC) is seeking applications for one full-time [37.5 hours] Youth Rights Worker to achieve extraordinary things for children in and leaving care.


This post will be based in Derry-Londonderry.


The successful candidate will have a key role in reaching out to children and young people living in and leaving care, have a good understanding of issues facing children in care, decision making processes in the care system, and a passion for ensuring children’s views are heard and acted upon.


They will provide professional advocacy support to children and young people in a range of care and after-care settings, to share their views and engage with decision making. They will facilitate group work activities focusing on capacity building and social action, and work in partnership with social care professionals, carers, families, and others to promote best practice in respect of children’s rights
