14 Plus Care Day Event @ The Rink

This event will take place at the Rink, Portadown, which is the largest indoor skating rink around. There will be activities including roller skating, football, hockey and basketball. All rounded off with celebratory Pizza and Cupcakes. This popular venue offers a lot of fun and the opportunity to meet old friends and make some new ones too. Numbers are limited.

Open to: Any young person in the Southern Trust 14plus Team

Pathways into Catering – The Fostering Network

Find out about catering lead by Craig Beazley, Head Chef of the Bull & Claw Donaghadee restaurant.  You will see how his restaurant operates and hear about the competencies and skills needed to become a chef.  You will get ‘hands on’ in their kitchen to prepare some food under the expert guidance of Craig and his team.  We then invite the foster and kinship carers to join us in the Bull & Claw for lunch where you will have the opportunity to practice your ‘table service’ skills!

 

Open to: Young people living in foster and kinship care, Year 10 up to 18 years old

Southern Trust 14 Plus Trust Football

 

We are going to celebrate Care Day at out weekly football which takes place in the Cathedral Road Recreation Centre. The session will be led by Darnell Parkinson and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the mix of fitness training, skills and football match. To celebrate Care Day there will be treats for all attendees.

Magic Gareth’s VIRTUAL MAGIC SHOW!

 

Join the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust for a special virtual MAGIC SHOW was Gareth!

Pathways into TV & theatre makeup and hair artistry – The Fostering Network

 

Find out about modern wigs, hair and makeup artistry within the TV and theatre industry lead Patricia Strong, an experienced professional who has worked on series such as ‘Game of Thrones’. You will hear about the competencies and skills needed within this industry, see styling demonstrations and have the opportunity to have a go yourself.  Following the event we invite the foster and kinship carers to join us for lunch at the Millbrook Lodge hotel.

Awareness Training course on Supporting Care Experienced Children and Young people – Include Youth

 

The Include Youth Training and Awareness course will help you and your organisation;

– Improve awareness of how the sector challenges stereotypes and encourages inclusive practices 

– Have greater of health and wellbeing needs of children and young people 

– Building awareness of inclusion, diversity and opportunities for care experienced children and young people

 

Open to: Organisations who wish to improve their awareness of the unique needs of care experienced young people
