VOYPIC receives funding from the Public Health Agency

We are excited to announce that we've received funding from the Public Health Agency under their Clear Project, Mental and Emotional Well-being and Suicide Prevention - 'Take 5' steps to well-being grant for our Good Health Good Mind programme.  This programme is aimed at care experienced children and young people aged 12 and over. The funding will be used to develop a participative and active physical programme that will promote positive mental and emotional well-being by addressing the ‘Connect’, ‘Keeping Active’, ‘Take Notice’ and ‘Keeping Learning’ themes of the ‘Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing’ through

Promoting physical activities that will develop greater self-esteem, self-expression and control,

Engagement in group work and high adrenaline sports,

Building positive relationships and connections between children and young people,

Developing and strengthening wider social connections,

Creating opportunities for children and young people to learn activity skills as well as building interpersonal and personal development skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience and leadership, and

Understanding emotional health well-being by creating a protected and supportive environment for children and young people to explore, notice and manage their feelings.

The children and young people will undertake a range of activity days in Carrowmena, Cregagh Country Park, Todd’s Leap and City of Derry Equestrian as part of this funded programme.
